Dr. Morimoto was born in Osaka, Japan and moved to Hawaii at the age of 4 where she grew up in Hawaii Kai and Kaimuki. She attended Epiphany School for grades 1-3 (now part of Mid-Pacific Institute), then Punahou school through high school, and obtained her Bachelor's degree in Psychobiology from the University of California, Los Angeles. During her time at UCLA, she worked as a peer counselor for the Psychology Department and as a project manager for the UCLA Addictions Lab. She also was a member of a competitive hip-hop dance team!

After graduating from UCLA and spending two years working for the UCLA Addictions Lab and caring for her grandparents in Japan, she returned home to complete her medical degree at the University of Hawaii John A. Burns School of Medicine (JABSOM). While attending medical school, she competed in the Merrie Monarch Hula Festival with her hālau and won 2nd place!

Devoted to caring for the people of Hawaiʻi, she remained on Oahu to complete her residency with the UH Family Medicine Residency Program, based in the Aiea community, and ultimately chose to work with Pearl City Medical where she can continue to work with the community that helped her grow. 
In her free time, Dr. Morimoto enjoys spending time with family and friends, relaxing, eating and cooking delicious food, and cozying up with a good novel. She is excited to join the PCMA
family!
